I thought it would be nice to have a regular feature once a week where I can have a bit of a chat about craft-related topics and other things happening in my life without it being squished into a ‘How to…’ tutorial or project update.
Therefore, welcome to my first Monday Morning Matters post!
Brand New Beaks
First things first, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my friend Richard, who has created a brilliant new logo for my blog. The original Beak Up Crafts logo was something I knocked up in a few minutes on Microsoft Paint – the only tool I had access to at the time. As a result, it was a bit ‘pixelly’ and not the slickest piece of branding you will have seen.
Anyway, my below-par technological effort has now been consigned to the waste paper bin, as Richard over at Kryptonite Dove created this for me:
Richard is one of mine and Wayne’s good friends (he has pulled the short straw to do a reading at our wedding!) and while he works in the world of horse racing during the day, in his free time he creates amazing computer-designed graphics and logos, as well as lots of other technological things I can’t understand! Please have a look at his website, it’s great!
Richard also proposed to his lovely girlfriend Becky on Christmas Eve – so happy for them – so an even bigger thank you to him for whipping up my little beaky birds in the midst of the early whirlwind of wedding planning.
Who can resist the January sales?
Away from the blog, the January sales are going strong. I’ve tried to keep my spending to a minimum this time around as Wayne and I are still saving hard for the wedding. Saying that, we have only one more payment into the wedding account at the end of this month and that saving will be DONE!
Despite trying to live relatively frugally in order to save for our big day, I couldn’t resist buying this cute bracelet and necklace. Yep, they have birds on…
They are Cath Kidston but I bought them from ASOS as they were cheaper there!
So have you been tempted by anything in the sales?
